Mask Fit Testing

We proudly offer qualitative respiratory mask fit tests for individuals that work and study in jobs and schools that require annual or biannual certification. Our certificates are workplace and academic approved. This test is popular for individuals that work in labs and isolation rooms, nurses, doctors and medical professionals. It is also popular among health sciences students, nursing students and science students. This test takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. During the test participants will learn to put on the masks as well as test the masks seal in different situations. Please ensure that you meet all of the requirements prior to registration. Will My Card Be Accepted at My School or Workplace?

Yes, we work hard to ensure that our masks meet the requirements of your school / workplace. We use popular 3M N95 mask in various sizes. If your workplace or school has a unique masks that requires testing please let us know so that we can ensure we have the mask for testing.

What Masks Are Used for Testing?

We use the following 3M masks for testing:

  • 3M-1860
  • 3M-1860S
  • 3M-1870+

What Are the Pre-Requisites?

Participants must meet the following requirements prior to attending:

  • Participants must not eat, smoke, chew gum or drink within 20 minutes of the test.
  • All areas that touch the mask and / or seal must be clean shaven.
  • Participants with respiratory issues must contact us prior to testing.

How Long Is the Certificate Valid?

The certification length is based on your employer / school. Please let the instructor know what certification length you need on your certificate. Annual certification is standard.

How Much Does the Test cost?

The test costs 38.99 (price includes taxes).

How Long Does the Test Take?

The test takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Certification is provided immediately upon completion.

Are Group / Private Tests Available?

Yes, we would be happy to help do a qualitative mask fit test for your group. Please email info@canadianfirstaid.ca to schedule a private fit appointment.
