Deadly ordeal in Coquihalla crash

First aid was given to the victims of a deadly crash in Coquihalla. The incident claimed the lives of three people from the same family and two others are in a healthcare facility after a rollover on the Coquihalla Highway in B.C.

Unexpected crash

The crash occurred at around 7:30 PM between Merritt and Kamloops. According to RCMP Cpl. Dan Moskaluk, the bystanders who witnessed the incident including a doctor and a nurse provided first aid before emergency crews arrived.

The vehicle ended up rolling down a 200-foot bank as it tried to turn on to Lac Le Jeune Road. Two people were declared dead at the scene.

The 42-year old female driver and a 70-year old male passenger who was sitting behind her sustained undetermined injuries. The three deceased include a 49-year old man and a 61-year old woman, both of New Westminster and a 41-year old man from Surrey.
