Mother provides CPR on newborn babies

A mother from Saskatchewan saves the lives of her newborn triplets, while providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on one while still laboring with the other two. Throughout the ordeal her 15 year old eldest son was by her side. Drive out to meet the ambulance to guide them to the farmhouse.

The mother had an ultrasound earlier in the day and was told that her pregnancy is fine at 32 weeks. She went home and spent the night with her four children and read stories on the younger ones. After an hour, she woke up with severe pain. His son called the ambulance. The contraction was so strong, and pain was very severe.

Her other son was about six-week-old, had an incident in which he also stopped breathing and CPR was also provided by the mother until he was revived.

Timely action

With a little warning, the first baby was born, but she was not breathing. With the fast action of the mother, she had to pull the baby out of her, and sat on the coach and provides cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the baby. It was about 45 minutes for the ambulance to arrive and her son remains calm and composed. The ambulance transported the mother to the hospital with the remaining two infants in a breech position or the baby is positioned where the buttocks or feet will come out first during delivery. The remaining two babies were delivered the next day with each of the babies weighs about 4.5 pounds which is above average birth weight for triplets. The triplets were taken cared at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the area and shows signs of improvement.

Immediate response

According to the mother, it is the third time that happened that she has to rescue one of her children by providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. They were walking on the beach with one her daughter who was about 10 months old when a sand cliff fell on them and they were both knocked out to the ground. When the mother got up, her daughter was completely covered by the sand. The mother dug the sand until she found her baby and already turning blue. She removed sand particles and other debris inside the mouth and started giving cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the baby until she was revived.

Her other son was about six-week-old, had an incident in which he also stopped breathing and CPR was also provided by the mother until he was revived. The husband of the woman, who is a truck driver, never worries of whatever emergencies that happen to their family, his wife has confidence in herself in handling the situation.
